The privately-owned facilities of DOCTUM extend over an area of 5 acres, in a three-storey building and at a distance of 17 km from the center of Athens, with a significant advantage in the excellent service of its customers, but also in its staffing with the most capable skilled and trained workforce.
DOCTUM also has an extensive distribution organization, which covers State Hospitals and Private Clinics throughout the country.
Industrial and other facilities operate in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations. The laboratories have been modernized with automatic and semi-automatic machines that ensure the fully controlled production of products, which are manufactured in accordance with the latest strict international standards and modern technical specifications.
DOCTUM can prepare and pack all pharmaceutical forms such as: tablets of various forms, capsules, liquids, creams, syrups, suppositories, dialysis solutions and many other medical devices.
Since 1975, DOCTUM has been manufacturing and distributing dialysis solutions and a number of products related to Artificial Kidney. With these products and materials it supplies a large part of the market and serves most of the State Hospitals and Private Clinics of the country.
At the end of 1985, for reasons of better organization and distribution, DOCTUM founded the subsidiary company "DOCTOPHARMA TELEM. K. GIOKARIS & CO COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL GP", which is housed in the facilities of DOCTUM, and has undertaken the import and distribution of dialysis filters and other imported materials for the Artificial Kidney Units. DOCTOPHARMA has a complete range of dialysis filters manufactured in specialized factories in Switzerland and Italy.
In recent years, DOCTUM has expanded its activities in the creation of Artificial Kidney Units in collaboration with other bodies.
It currently has a total of five Artificial Kidney Units serving a total of 600 patients.
In particular, two of the above Kidney Units, subsidiaries of DOCTUM S.A., are housed in privately owned buildings with the most modern facilities and mechanical equipment. Specifically: the BIONEPHROS SA Chronic Hemodialysis Unit in Moschato with 34 dialysis places and the EURONEPHROS Chronic Hemodialysis Unit in Ampelokipi with 45 dialysis spots.
